My Weekend in Pop Culture

Please excuse the lateness in this post.  I meant to write it yesterday but played videogames instead.  Such is life.  Here’s the pop culture I consumed this weekend.

gg4Gilmore Girls Season 4: I’m still trucking along on my Gilmore Girls recap.  It’s the best kind of escapism for me, because things are stressful right now.  J. is looking forward to when I finish the series.  This I know.  But I’m loving it, even if fourth season is not my favorite (JASON YOU ARE THE WORST).

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire/Order of the Phoenix:hp5 A while back, J. and I decided to do a Harry Potter movie rewatch but then got sidetracked.  We knocked out two of the movies this weekend, and I’m looking forward to the last three, because they are my favorite in terms of the film franchise.  The fourth movie doesn’t hold up as much as I’d like it to (it was my very favorite of the books for a very long time).

cyrgfCall Your Girlfriend Podcast: I’m having trouble finding an audiobook to listen to on my walks with Zoey, so this podcast had to suffice for a bit of it.  It’s a very new podcast and the two women who run it are still working out the kinks.  It’s flawed but interesting, and I love the concept: two best friends on opposite coasts (well, that’s how it started, at least) catching up about pop culture, current events, and internet stuff.  But it doesn’t totally work all the time, probably because it’s fairly unstructured and also because at least one of the hosts is kind of obnoxious in a way I’m not sure she’s fully aware of.  I have a lot of thoughts about this one.  I should probably find an outlet for them.

What pop culture did you consume this weekend?
