Movie News and Randomness

Are you all ready for another installment of movie news and blather?  Excellent.  So am I.

1. SDCC First Look at Veronica Mars Movie

I couldn’t not post this one, right?  It’s a first look at the Veronica Mars movie, and while it doesn’t give us much in the way of content, it does give us a great look at a bunch of people in the movie.  It’s definitely worth a couple of minutes of your time to check it out and get excited.

2. Killer Whale Documentary Getting Distribution Deals

Blackfish is the name of the documentary in question, and it’s about the killer whale named Tilikum, a whale that killed several people while in captivity.  The documentary was picked up in the U.S. by Magnolia/IFC, but this means that the movie is getting pickup abroad, which means more exposure.  I can’t wait to see this documentary. 3. Catching Fire Full-Length Trailer

Guys, November 22 can’t come soon enough.  The trailer for this looks awesome, just as I expected it would.  If the movie is at all like its predecessor, it’s going to be a complete and total thrill ride, and I can’t wait.  Good lord, is it filmed beautifully or what?

4. Divergent Movie Scoop

Screen Rant has a recap of the Comic Con panel on the Divergent movie, and there’s some tidbits there if you’re at all interested.  My favorite part is where the writer mentions that Woodley (who plays Tris) spoke about her character “vaguely.”  Um, okay? (Screen Rant)

5. The Canyons Trailer Promises a Hot Mess

So, this is that movie that Lindsay Lohan made some time ago, and the New York Times wrote this incredible piece about it (if you haven’t read it, you should, because it’s riveting).  The movie finally got picked up for distribution, and this is the resulting trailer.  It’s…going to be awful.  Like, there’s no way this movie won’t be absolutely terrible.  Lindsay’s a mess.  Her face is a mess.  The plot is convoluted and trite and…I can’t wait to see this disasterpiece.

What movie news are you excited about this week?
