Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. Its purpose is to spotlight eagerly-anticipated upcoming releases.
This week I’m eagerly awaiting:
The Blessed by Tonya Hurley
Expected release date: September 25, 2012
From the author of the “New York Times” bestselling ghostgirl series, the start to a captivating and haunting teen trilogy about three girls who become entangled with an enigmatic boy–a boy who believes he is a saint. What if martyrs and saints lived among us? And what if you were told you were one of them?
Meet Agnes, Cecilia, and Lucy. Three lost girls, each searching for something. But what they find is Beyond Belief.

The buzz around this one has been mixed, but I have to say that it sounds deliciously creepy. I don’t know if I’ll end up liking it, but I can’t wait to get my hands on it and give it a try. Religious themes can either be done really well or really terribly, and I’m excited to see how this one goes. This is definitely a departure from Hurley’s ghostgirl series, which were sort of silly/funny and were definitely aimed at a younger audience.
What are you waiting on this week?
Hmmm, I see your issue. I also think I’d have mixed feelings about this book– it could either be really good or not so much. Thanks for your pick! I sometimes like when I don’t know whether I’ll like a book or not because then if it’s good, it makes it even more unexpected and better!
