In My Mailbox (18)

In My Mailbox (IMM) is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.  This meme allows bloggers to share the books they’ve received over the course of the week.  I’m trying to participate in part because I think it’s fun, and in part because I want to keep track of what I’m getting (and how that differs from what I’m reading).

From Netgalley:
A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies: It appears to be a paranormal week for me.  I’ve never done well with angel stories, but the cover is pretty striking.
Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson: I don’t know why I think this is like the Hunger Games, but I do.  The synopsis doesn’t indicate that I’m right in any way.
The Mephisto Covenant by Trinity Faegen: We’ll see.
Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey: This one seems like it could be really great or really awful.  Either way, it’s a twist on zombies that might work.
My Misadventures as a Teenage Rock Star by Joyce Raskin: Looks like it could be cute.
The Poisoned House by Michael Ford: Could be a great little ghost story.
The Queens of All the Earth by Hannah Sternberg: Looks dark.  We’ll see.

From the Library:
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs: I’ve been hearing good things about this one.
Bad Taste in Boys by Carrie Harris: I read a good review of this one this week.  It sounds like fun, light paranormal.  Also, I really love the cover.
Girl, Stolen by April Henry: I’m not sure about this one.  We’ll see.
Sharks & Boys by Kristen Tracy: Could be really great.
Small Town Sinners by Melissa C. Walker: Read some great things about this one.
